The EPS is whole of system network (access network and packet core network). Access network in LTE is E-UTRAN, Packet core network in LTE is EPC.

Six (6) interface in simple architecture of EPS

• Gi, SGi Interface (IP)
• S5 Interface (GTPv2)
• S11 Interface (GTPv2-C)
• S6a Interface (Diameter)
• S1-U Interface (GTPv1-U)
• S1-MME Interface (SCTP)
